Institutional Development and Research Training Grant Proposals

This is a 5-6 hour HEAVILY INTERACTIVE workshop that focuses on the construction of a proposal in ways that are most responsive to the various review processes. Prior participation in the Introductory (Foundation of Good Grantsmanship) workshop IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED  to make this exercise most productive for the participant.  Participants will leave the workshop with a completed draft of a specific aims page as well as an outline for the remainder of their proposal.  The workshop will review issues of pre and post submission management (budgets etc.), as well as strategies for leveraging and gaining greater buy-in on the part of the institution and colleagues.

Based on institutional need,  the first hour for Part 2 could be devoted to Department heads and other institution administrators to discuss institutional approaches that best serve a longer-term objective of increasing its grants activities and external funding support.

Our grantsmanship presentation team is led by Dr. Anthony DePass. Dr. DePass is currently PI/CoPI on over $5milion in active grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).  Over the over the last two decades, he has been PI/Co-PI on nearly $25 million in federal and foundation grants (NIH, NSF, HHMI, Sloan Foundation and others).  He has served on and chaired several review panels for government and private granting organizations, as well as an evaluator for several funded programs.
